On Saturday June 3rd, 2026, Devoxx4Kids had a very special day, not one, but two events running simultaneously in Belgium, bringing the joy of STEM education to children in Brussels at ING Belgium and Antwerp at Baloise.
A Day Full of Curiosity and Smiles
From the moment the doors opened, both venues buzzed with energy. Children arrived wide-eyed and left with something far more valuable than what they came with: the confidence that they can create technology, not just consume it.
Throughout the day, young participants dove into hands-on workshops, coding their first programs, building logic with games, and watching robots come to life under their own instructions. There were moments of frustration, moments of breakthrough, and above all, moments of pure joy when something finally worked. That magical “it works!” expression on a child’s face is exactly why Devoxx4Kids exists.
Baloise: A Wonderful First Edition in Antwerp
For Baloise in Antwerp, this was a historic first, and what a debut it was. The Baloise team embraced the Devoxx4Kids spirit wholeheartedly, turning their offices into a vibrant learning playground. Their volunteers brought patience, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for inspiring the next generation. As Baloise CIO Bart Meskens beautifully put it: no memos, but demos.
We are incredibly proud to welcome Baloise into the Devoxx4Kids family, and we look forward to many more editions together.

ING Belgium: Continuing a Great Partnership in Brussels
In Brussels, ING Belgium once again proved why they are such a valued Devoxx4Kids partner. Their commitment to STEM education and their ability to create a warm, welcoming environment for children and families is something we deeply appreciate. Another successful edition to add to a growing shared story.
The Real Heroes: Our Mentors
Events like these don’t happen by magic. They happen because of the extraordinary people who give up their weekend to make a difference, our mentors.
To every volunteer who prepared workshops, guided a child through their first loop, celebrated a small victory, or patiently helped debug a program: thank you.
You are the beating heart of Devoxx4Kids. Your dedication is what transforms a room full of children into a room full of future creators, engineers, and problem-solvers.
Why This Matters
Since its founding in 2012, Devoxx4Kids has reached over 40,000 children across more than 20 countries. Each event is a reminder of why this mission matters: in a world increasingly shaped by technology, every child deserves the chance to understand it, play with it, and ultimately build it.
Days like June 3rd remind us that we are far from done.
