Empowering the Next Generation: Devoxx4Kids Family Updates from Devoxx Belgium 2025   Recently updated !

Yesterday at Devoxx Belgium 2025, Eddy Vos and Daniel De Luca had the privilege of sharing exciting updates about the Devoxx4Kids Family, two initiatives that are making a real difference in bringing technology education and opportunities to young people.

LITTIL: Building Digital Literacy Together

Eddy provided a comprehensive update on LITTIL, a project dedicated to bridging the digital divide by providing technology education to underserved communities. What makes LITTIL special is its open-source approach – it’s built by the community, for the community.

We’re looking for volunteers! Whether you’re a developer who can contribute code or a DevOps engineer who can help with infrastructure and deployment, your skills can make a meaningful impact. The project welcomes all contributors who want to use their technical expertise for social good.

Introducing the Devoxx4Kids Foundation

I’m thrilled to officially announce the newest member of the Devoxx4Kids Family: the Devoxx4Kids Foundation. This initiative addresses a critical gap in our tech ecosystem – talented IT students who face financial barriers to pursuing their education and careers.

The Foundation operates on a simple but powerful model:

  • We partner with academic institutions to identify promising IT students experiencing financial difficulties
  • We connect these students with companies who provide financial support, mentorship, and career guidance
  • We create pathways for talent to thrive, regardless of economic background

I’m proud to share that ING Bank has stepped forward as an early supporter, providing funding and embracing the Foundation’s mission with tremendous enthusiasm. Their commitment demonstrates the tech industry’s recognition that investing in diverse talent isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s essential for innovation.

Join Us

Both LITTIL and the Devoxx4Kids Foundation are built on the belief that technology should be accessible to everyone, and that talent is everywhere – opportunity is not. If you’re an academic institution, a company looking to invest in future tech talent, or a volunteer wanting to contribute your skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we’re not just teaching code – we’re opening doors.
