Introducing the Devoxx4Kids Foundation

From Inspiring Young Minds to Empowering Future Tech Leaders

After more than a decade of watching thousands of children discover their passion for technology through Devoxx4Kids workshops, we’ve witnessed something remarkable: the spark of curiosity that ignites when a young person writes their first line of code, builds their first robot, or creates their first app.

But we’ve also seen something troubling, talented students abandoning their tech education dreams due to financial constraints, just when they’re on the verge of becoming the innovators our industry desperately needs.

Today, we’re proud to announce the next chapter in our mission: the Devoxx4Kids Foundation.

Extending Our Impact Beyond Childhood

Since 2012, Devoxx4Kids has reached over 40,000 children across 15+ countries, planting seeds of technological curiosity and creativity. Now, we’re ensuring those seeds can fully grow.

The Devoxx4Kids Foundation, officially constituted as a Belgian foundation of public utility on April 2, 2025, addresses a critical gap: supporting underprivileged students pursuing higher education in computer sciences across Europe.

The Challenge We’re Tackling

The numbers tell a stark story:

  • Over 60% of EU enterprises struggle to recruit ICT specialists
  • Europe faces a persistent shortage of IT professionals
  • Meanwhile, financial barriers prevent talented students from completing their tech education

This isn’t just about individual dreams, it’s about Europe’s competitive future in the digital economy.

Our Solution: Holistic Student Support

The Foundation provides: ✅ Progressive financial grants that increase as students advance ✅ Professional-grade refurbished computers for development work ✅ Academic mentorship and support with compassionate accountability ✅ Partnerships with universities to identify and support students in need

We’re not just writing checks, we’re building a comprehensive support ecosystem that recognizes both academic standards and the real-world challenges students face.

A Call to Corporate Partners

Here’s where you come in. If your company benefits from talented developers, UX designers, data scientists, and tech innovators, you have the opportunity to help shape that talent pipeline.

Partnership opportunities include:

  • Financial sponsorship (Bronze to Platinum tiers)
  • Equipment donations and software licenses
  • Mentorship programs and internship opportunities
  • Employee engagement initiatives

The return? Beyond the obvious CSR benefits, you’re investing in motivated, diverse talent that will drive innovation across Europe’s tech sector.

Transparency at Our Core

Every partner receives detailed impact reports, regular student progress updates, and complete financial transparency. We believe accountability strengthens trust and maximizes impact.

Why This Matters Now

Technology is advancing at breakneck speed. AI, quantum computing, sustainable tech, digital health—the solutions to tomorrow’s biggest challenges will come from the minds we support today.

But here’s what excites us most: every student we help represents not just one career saved, but potentially dozens of future innovations, hundreds of jobs created, and thousands of lives improved through technology.

Join Our Mission

From the child who built their first Scratch game at a Devoxx4Kids workshop to the university student coding the next breakthrough application, we’re committed to nurturing talent at every stage.

The digital divide isn’t just about access to technology, it’s about access to opportunity. The Devoxx4Kids Foundation is here to bridge that gap.

Corporates, ready to partner with us?

Educational institutions looking to nominate deserving students, we want to hear from you too.

Together, we’re not just teaching code, we’re coding a more inclusive, innovative future.
