Goal: Scratch is an educational programming language and multimedia authoring tool that can be used to program interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. This workshop will teach attendees how to get started with Scratch. Attendees will:
- engage in design activities using sprites and blocks
- show personal creativity by solving problems
- share collaborations with other attendees
Duration: 3.5 hrs (2 sessions of 1.5 hrs with 30 mins break)
This can be adjusted to suit the audience.
Age Group: 8-14
Expenses: Optional donation to Devoxx4Kids USA organization
Resources:
- 1 laptop/desktop for every two (optimal) or three (works) attendees
- Print out of Scratch Cards per laptop (will be shared before the workshop)
- 1 volunteer per 3 laptops
