- Experience level of attendees: The range from complete beginners to kids programming for a few years. The attendance tend to lean more towards little experience, but most of them know how to copy/paste and type.
- Age range: This is typically defined by the workshop. We’ve had attendees from 6 years through 16 years. The typical sweet spot is 8 through 13.
- Do they work in teams?
- $15.00 per attendee: $15.00 charge is per attendee, siblings need to pay extra. For example, if there are 3 kids from the family, then the total cost to family is $45.00.
- Parents pay?: Parents don’t have to pay for attending.
- Parents for the workshop: parents do have to stay at the facility for the entire duration of the workshop. They have full liability of the kids while they are attending the workshop. Read the Waiver and Release of Liability.
- Class duration – The workshops are typically 2 hrs, but we’ve had up to 3 hrs long as well. This is mostly defined by the workshop instructor.
- Series of classes: Classes can be delivered as one off. Alternatively, they can be delivered as a series of classes over multiple weekends. We’ve done both, but typically its much harder to guarantee that kids who have not attended Level 1 class will not sign up for Level 2
- Teachers background: We are mostly professional developers with a passion to education kids in STEM. None of us have certification in teaching but all have kids of similar ages so know how to work with them.
- Internet: Our workshops generally have Internet. But its recommended to read the instructions on the meetup to pre-install the software at your home.
